Application Process
If you are ready to adopt and are interested in an application please read through the application process to make sure you are ok with the application process.
Application
Application Process:
Application section: Applications are submitted through the ACPR website. If you have applied through PetFinder, those applications are not accessible by ACPR.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU’RE APPROVED?
Following the approval of your application, a deposit of $100 is required for the animal to be held up to 4 days. The deposit is transferable to another animal within 30 days but is not refundable.
Review Process
We try to notify every applicant within 24 hours that their application has been received. The review of applications generally takes 3 to 5 days. During this time, we will reach out to do an interview over the phone and we will receive photos of the home’s common areas and yard. Please notify your references and landlord, if appliable, that they may be receiving a phone call from ACPR.
We will contact you via phone regardless of approval status.
If Approved, Come Meet Our Adoptable Pets!
If your application is approved, you will be given the opportunity to make an appointment to come meet the pet you are interested in adopting.
Puppy & Kitten Adoption
All of our puppies & kittens are spayed or neutered (as early as 8 weeks of age) before leaving our rescue. All puppies & kittens will be up to date with age-appropriate vaccines before leaving our rescue. We do not allow meet & greets with potential adopters’ dogs due to the puppies being at high risk of contracting illnesses. Applications are required prior to meeting puppies.
What Adoption Fees Cover
All animals will be spayed or neutered prior to leaving our rescue. All animals will receive age-appropriate vaccines (including: Distemper, Parvo, Rabies, Feline Upper Respiratory and Bordetella) and worming. All animals will receive a microchip that is transferable to their new parent.
These are Rescue Dogs and Cats
We cannot offer any health guarantees on any animals nor temperament guarantees.
Health of Your Pet
ACPR recommends that adopters take their new pet to visit their own veterinarian for a health screening within the few months of ownership. We hope that you and your new pet will have a long happy, healthy life together!
